During these trips, Luke Cassaro is mistaken for a relative of Luca Cassaro, the ‘Capo di tutti capi’ and mafia lord hiding in Sicily.

This scenario continues when he arrives in Corleone since he is still unaware. Alessandra is an anti-mafia activist and historian on Corleone who wants to recreate “The Old Arab Mill.” He’s attracted to her attractiveness and intelligence. She’s appalled because she thinks he’s Cassaro. His non-mafia conduct and three days of courteous but relentless pursuit win her over. Luke’s actions will continue to amaze and confuse her, swinging her from love to hatred. On Luke’s last night in Corleone, Alessandra admits they’re supposed to be together.

Luke finds an unusual Arab man in Corleon escorted by several Arabian men in local clothing (thwabs) and a black pinstriped suit and cap. Prince Zarif is a scion of one of the wealthiest royal families. The Prince and Luke have an adversarial relationship due to the Prince’s erroneous idea of the Mafia and Luke’s severe reprimand, yet they separate as friends.

Luke finds the significance of his name on his last day in Corleone through a newspaper report. He calls his mother, who explains why they fled Corleone. Now that he understands he’s not related to the same Cassaro, he sets out to find Alessandra and establish his innocence.

After explaining himself, they decide to fulfill his father’s promise together.

Luke and Alessandra try to recover the ashes, but they’re taken. On top of that, their capture and forced meeting with Luca Cassaro complicate matters further. Here, it is discovered that Luke’s parents fled Corleone because Luke’s father falsely claimed to have killed Luca’s cousin to save the town from the Mafia and Luca, the genuine perpetrator, from his uncle.

Later, Luke and Alessandra laid his father’s ashes where Luca killed his cousin.

Luke makes a technical error after confessing his love. He mentions his fiancée in the U.S. Alessandra tells him she won’t speak to him again. He leaves Corleone without saying anything to Alessandra.

Later, Luke writes “Blood Tells No Lies” for Vanity Fair as therapy. After reading about his three days in Corleone, the world’s largest gallery owner asks Luke to set up a display. Luke accepts the deal, provided he may bring his display to Corleone.

The story carries far more twists and turns than what a reader can grasp from the synopsis.

But more importantly, will Luke and Alessandra meet again? Was sharing the name a mere happenstance, or is there some big secret that is yet to be identified?
